“Telling My Dad How My Day Was”
3 people think this is Nice! Today, my dad asked how my day was. I said "good" and he said, "Oh thats good.." and it got sort of quiet. I thought of my wonderful Boom Boom card and explained to him how I was doing in school. I told him how I thought I did on the test we took a few days ago and how I'm keeping my grades up. I told him about events coming up an how I'm involved. It felt pretty good to tell him this and hear his comments on what I had to say. I think it was a reminder to him that he's important to me, and a reminder to me how much family really matters.

Speaking from the perspective of an adult, not only did you remind your dad the he and family are important to you, you also let him know that, as parent, he's doing something right. Your being willing to fill him in on details of your life and have a conversation with him about it, affirms the fact that he is doing a great job as a dad...and even though you didn't tell him in those exact words, I bet that's what he felt! Way to make your Dad's day AND Revolutionize It! Boom Boom!
It's really cool that you did that,
no seriously.
It's really great sometimes to share with the people closest to you, sometimes as teenagers we tend to shut our parents out. As you said, you reminded your dad that he is important to you.
way to go! BOOM BOOM!
Thank you guys :D
Wow, it seems that you and your dad understand each other. Maybe you could start telling him everyday what you did. It may help your relationship a lot. Trust me. =D
