“Hide and Literally, Go seek”

2 people think this is Nice!

Beginning high school. Man what a pain.. you don't know anything, you get guided in the wrong direction, and you try to set things straight. Sooo... let's begin. One fine morning, on my way to early flight(too early to look at the clock!), I was walking with my friends to the cafeteria after we got off the bus. It's warm in there so that's were everyone chills out. As I looked at the clock, I noticed it's time to go to gym class once again. This one girl whom I've known since the 1st day of school, "Monica", left her purse with all of her little belongings on the table. "Monica" is in my class so I decided to get her purse and deliver it to her. As I was walking out of the cafeteria, my other friends "Sharon" and "Patricia" walked quickly past the tables to catch up to me. Now my friends "Sharon" and "Patricia" do not like "Monica" at all, and say that I had "Monica"'s purse. Both of them are known greatly for being a little too obnoxious and immature, so they decided to ask me if they could see her purse. I didn't think that they would be too mean to her, considering they can be actually really nice. So I gave them the purse, thinking they would just hold it. Turns out that they opened her purse and wanted to steal some money. I was under some serious pressure. I mean "Monica" can be a little annoying at times, but can be a real sweet heart. But then I was also against "Patricia" and "Sharon" whom I've been friends with for years!! I tried to let it not get to me, they did take the money and then they hid her purse behind a trash can. Then off we went to class. The guilt sunk into me like honey in bread. During 1st period, I told "Monica" the truth and she was furious with me not telling her. That's what I got for not standing up for someone. But the friendship between "Patricia" and "Sharon" and I ended. The truth begin to spread amongst everyone that knew "Patricia" and "Sharon". Even when that friendship ended, I believe they had always been good friends, maybe not the kind I needed to be with. "Monica" and I have become friends, we talk frequently, and have bonded a little closer. Some tips if this ever a situation LIKE this happens to you, stand up for what you think is right. Not all of your friends are saints or anythings, we all make mistakes.

Tough one - you did the right thing! It is hard, but it helps make you who you are. I didn't think you had too many hard lessons left to learn, but obviously this one was one of those. I am glad that you shared this story in particular - it shows grace to be able to admit a mistake and turn it into a personal growing experience! Well done - Boom BOOM!
