“The church preformance ”

A few days ago we had a dance performance at our church where we got together in groups and all made up dances to perform for our friends and family. My group and I were sitting in the audience watching the other groups that were performing, and we were all starting to get nervous. We had some friends that had just preformed, and the whole time we had been screaming for them and cheering them on. When they were all done they waked off the stage and then came and sat in the row behind us. Then one of them started talking to my friend. She also knew them. It was like once the one person said something then everyone else kind of thought it was funny an joined in. I do not want to mention her name because I think that she might feel embarrassed but she is not a very athletic person . The one guy behind us that had said something to my friend was not intentionally sitting there trying to put my friend down I just don’t think that he realized that he could be hurting her feelings .She is kind of made fun of a lot because she is not the best at sports, or very athletic. They were telling her that they were going to be watching her and see all the mistakes she makes or when she messes up. I don't think that any one realizes or even thinks that this might bother her, because usually all she does, or even can do is just laugh. I kind of have noticed that she really doesn’t think its funny and then later when we were just getting ready to preform I had asked them not to say anything to my friend if she did mess up because I knew that she did not really think it was funny]. I felt like they actually stopped laughing for once and maybe will try to be more careful about what they have to say from now on.

Somtimes it takes a spirt of diserment to see things even when there not said. Good for you to use your dicretion to stand up and not be afraid to speak out. You just gave that person a little more confidence

This can be a hard thing to do, especially if no one else seems to think there's a problem. Good for you for being the one willing to stand up. usually if one person speaks up, someone else will too.
