“New Years Resolution”

My New Years resolution for 2012 was to not purchase or use any single-use bottled water/soda/juice ect. This was not an easy task, considering that on average, every American uses and disposes 167 plastic bottles every year. I am already a very environmentally conscious person. I ALWAYS recycle my used plastic, paper, and glass. I thought I would skip the whole plastic recycling process and not use single-use bottles altogether. I was really excited when I received this Boom Boom! card, since I was already committed to the challenge!

As of today, May 29, I have only used about 5-10 plastic bottles. While this resolution has been fairly easy for me to follow, there have been a few times when I had to give in and buy a bottled drink. I've brought my reusable bottle almost everywhere I go, and I fill it often. I still love and miss the taste of filtered, bottled water so I am plan on buying a water bottle with the attached filter.

My no-bottled drink journey has been a great experience and I encourage everyone to join me!
