“Boom Boom #5”

Our journey with the Boom Boom Cards has not been forgotten! Next up, number 5:

"Leave a note for your mail carrier, trash collector, or newspaper deliverer thanking them for the great job they do."

It is amazing how something so simple can really make a difference. Ever had one of those days where you felt like no one in the world understood how hard you work? I certainly have, and a sweet note is just the thing to lift my spirits.

So, that is what we did for our trash collectors today. A simple note:

"Dear WM Sanitation Workers,

Thank you so much for taking care of our trash each week. Picking up the trash of others must be a thankless job at times, but we want you to know how much we appreciate what you do. Thank you for the hard work! Be safe, and again- thank you."

The best part . . . we happened to be home when our trash was picked up today, and we got to spy on our sanitation worker as he read the note! First he seemed confused, then he read the note, smiled, emptied our trash, and ran our empty trash can all the way back to our garage. What a nice guy. I really hope he feel recognized for a change.
