“Bake Sale Spare Change”
I was so excited for the "Boom Boom" revolution to hit Lincoln Park High, the school where I teach. This card asked me to give some spare change to someone who needed a few cents. Well... this was going to be tough! I spend all day at work, and when I do buy something it is at a drive-thru or with a debit card. Spare change in my pocket or purse is very rare. My idea was to "stake out" a location in the school where I might encounter a student who needed some extra money. What perfect timing that a bake sale happened to be scheduled for the day I began my quest! I stationed myself at the bake sale table and waited as student after student came to purchase a treats. It took awhile. They all had money to spend! Finally, i spotted a student rifling in her pocket. I pounced and handed her fifty cents. It turns out that she was rifling for MONEY THAT SHE ACTUALLY HAD, but I still gave her my change - hey, it'll come in handy sooner or later. Now that my card duty has been fulfilled, I will pass it on with hopes that it comtinues a long way.
