“Random notes of love and care.”
When i first got the boom boom card I didnt know how i'd go about writing these random notes of love and care. I thought about my sisters and mom back home who i miss dearly and cant get in contact with all the time. So they were first on my list. I decided to send each of them text messages at 4am,expressing how much i miss and love them, i also sent each one of them an indvidual p.s. note at the end of each text, sending words of wisdom for the next day. Surprisingly they all text me back around 5am, saying that i should have picked a better time to contact them, "at least when the sun was rising" my little sister said. I had to laugh, becuse it's true. But they were all pleased and felt loved which was the point. Even though their words were a little off in their text messages i figured they understood what i was doing but it was too early in the morning for them to focus their thoughts while I on the other hand had everything planned out. I also decided to leave my roomate a note inside her planner. She hasn't been feeling good lately, and i know how it feels to be sick and not have anyone to help you or just someone to talk to. So im sure once she finds it she will be a happy camper. This experience with the boom boom cards was a great way to express myself to those around me. I can't wait to pass it on.

My first reaction was "wow--I would never think to TEXT someone a note of love!", but how perfect for someone who is so far away. You gotta love technology! I don't think it's a bad way to be woken up, though! It was really nice of you to think of your roommate and leave her a note too. You'll have to let us know if she said anything to you. Thanks for sharing your experience and teaching me a different way to leave someone a note.
Personally, I enjoy getting text messages that express something that is simply sweet, whether it comes at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. doesn't matter to me :). Sometimes the late night ones are the best because you are grumpy and annoyed, and then when you read the text you can't help but smile. I'm sure your family appreciated it, especially your mom. My mom is always telling me that she just wants to know I'm alive. Good thinking!
When I thought about what the card was, I didn't think about text either. I thought of a post it or something like under a pillow. I was thinking very literal. But, that was smart way to show it. I would've been so happy, I wish I would've got that text. It's alway nice to get words of wisdom once in a while just to realize how much you mean to someone, the best are when you least expect it. And, someone always need to reassure you if you cannot yourself.
Thanks guys. I know they appreciated it, and made me realize i should start sending love more often.
This is completely adorable, and SO TRUE. Sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night(which is pretty much every night), I'll reach for my phone and there's almost always a random text from my better half, saying how much they love me or making me laugh with an inside joke. Or when I'm working hard on an essay, I'll check my email quickly, and his brief but thoughtful words of love are always there and never fail to make my day. It's the little things that mean the world to me.
this is really cute..i also wake up in the middle of the night and i always automatically reach for my phone to see what time it is and sometimes there is a text message. it makes me happy when i get late night texts, especially when their careful, loving ones from a boyfriend, friend, or family member.
What you did for your card was too sweet! I probably would have sent a text also considering the fact that I'm ALWAYS texting. The only thing I would've done differently would be sending the text out at a more reasonable time. I'm pretty sure you brought so much joy to your family's hearts once they read your message. Now I wish I had the chance to have that card :(
