This card couldn't have come at a more perfect time.
This weekend was my birthday party. Afterward, a friend from Miami drove down and inevitably locked himself out of his room at 2 am. We hadn't been drinking really; the key just wouldn't work (we later found out my parents had the right key all along). We tried for hours to get into the house and against my better judgement, when my friend asked if my boyfriend could climb up to an open door on the second floor patio, I agreed that we could go wake him up and see. Poor Adam climbed all the way up to the second floor when the banisters to the porch gave way in his hands and he fell two stories down on to cement. He cracked his head open and received two staples to the back of his head at the ER.
To make matters worse, he lost a job he booked for a few days later. The client didn't want to wait four days for him to heal, which I had insisted on. I felt awful. It was my fault that all of this had happened.
So yesterday after the client canceled on him, I picked up the first card to my BoomBoom Deck and there it was, number twenty. "Leave a note of praise, encouragement or love for someone to find in an unexpected place." Perfect. So while he was sleeping I did. Then i snuck out of the house and walked (no car) to get him his favorite dinner, BBQ with sweet tea and mint brownie ice cream for dessert. I think it helped. :)

So cute. Well, not all of it, some of it sounds downright scary, but in the end what you did was very sweet! I am sure it helped ease the situation for him. And, he sounds like a pretty great guy! Boom Boom!

Muchas Gracias. Yeah it was pretty terrifying for the most part, but in the end, I hope I helped. (Plus, I never loved my boyfriend as much as I did while he was trying to be all tough on the gurney for me because I was a sobbing mess-ha!)
Boom Boom!
P.S. You're in Santa Cruz? I was supposed to move there last year! Wish I had!

Yes, I am in Santa Cruz...and it sounds like Santa Cruz missed out not having you move here. Our kindness quotient would go up by a whole lot with folks like you here! And, I've always wanted to go to Key West, seems just awesome.

I hope your boyfriend is feeling better! And, I can see why you love him so much...that was a pretty cool thing to do.

Love your posts, keep 'em coming!
