Mr. Ingram, the greatest teacher that ever lived!
My former 5th grade teacher found me on Facebook, and "friended" me. I sent him a message telling him how happy I was to see him on there, and how much he influenced my decisions through the years. He's the type of teacher I aspire to be with my students. He showed us that he truly cared for us, introduced us to Shakespeare, and made 5th grade THE BEST year ever. He recently retired, and I am so sad to see him out of the teaching profession, but his influence will live on through all of his former students and through the people we are allowed to impact. He wrote back that he was crying and his students made everything worthwhile. What a great guy!

As a former teacher I totally get this. What a great thing to do to let him know how much you meant to him. He sounds like he was pretty special. And, I'd never thought about finding my old teachers through Facebook before. I think I'm going to give it a try! Boom Boom!
